Hollywood star Mel Gibson has spoken of his decision to offer support to Britney Spears as she went through her troubles last year. The actor invited Britney to holiday at his property in Costa Rica and also took her out to dinner. "She's a nice kid, ya know. She was just going through a rough patch. I just felt like this poor kid she's lining up to be stoned,” he explained on Jimmy Kimmel Live before refusing to take any credit for her recovery. I just thought 'I wonder if anyone is reaching out to her'. So, I just called her and she's doing great now. It's got nothing to do with me. She pulled herself out of this, and her dad...he's the real hero."
