The marriage of Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills was officially over yesterday as Mr Justice Hugh Bennett awarded the couple a decree nisi at a private hearing. There was no repeat of the dramatic scenes in March where Heather was awarded £24.3million in settlement as neither she or Paul were at the private hearing. The divorce was uncontested on the grounds that they have been separated for two years. The pair are now free to marry again in six weeks. In other Sir Paul news, the former Beatle was said to be “horrified” to discover his new eco-car was delivered by jet. “It defies sense. Paul was offered a Lexus as a gift and ordered the hybrid limo because it helps to reduce emissions,” A source told the Daily Mirror. “But he was horrified after learning it was delivered by plane. Paul has always campaigned for green issues and he can’t understand why anyone would send an enormous car from Japan to Britain on a plane.” A spokesman for Swissport who handled the transport of the £74,000 Lexus Hybrid said, “Everyone was shocked. The carbon footprint must be enormous.”
