Mark Owen has confessed to cheating on his then girlfriend, Emma Ferguson, with around ten women before their wedding last November. "I have been an idiot, a dickhead, a knobhead. All of the above and more, Mark admitted in an exclusive interview with the Sun. It's about me, my mistakes, nobody else is to blame. I don't know how many girls there were in all. Maybe ten. The Take That star revealed the affairs included a five-year relationship with 24-year-old accounts manager Neva Hanley, as well as a string of one-night stands.
"I have been living with the guilt. It has always been there - you carry it around with you, he explained. It held me back in my relationship with Emma. I wouldn't have done any of this if I had my time again. Emma is really strong and I know she will do what is right for her and the kids. I support that and I really appreciate that. She loved me - she still does love me - and I have let her down. That's the truth of it."
However, Owen did add that he hasnt strayed since his November wedding. "I'm proud of that. I know it sounds really stupid but on our wedding day, for me the ring is really important and I want to be true to my word, Mark said. "This had to happen for me to move on. It would have always been there. I could never have been fully open with Emma, with myself, with anybody. Now I can. I really wanted for me and Emma to move on when we got married and not make the same mistakes."
Shortly after the story broke Mark took to his publicity companys Twitter to post a short statement. Im so deeply sorry for the pain my actions have caused my family and friends, he wrote. Id like to ask the media to please respect the privacy of my wife and children during this difficult time.
