Tina Davis, R&B singer Chris Brown's manager, has denied she sent her charge an intimate text message moments before his alleged assault of girlfriend Rihanna. Last month police sources told gossip site TMZ.com a text sent to Brown from a woman sparked the confrontation between the lovers. The message apparently included a reference to the pair "hooking up" later that evening and reports in the US over the weekend claimed the text in question came from his manager. "The relationship between Ms Davis and Mr Brown is that of manager and client. There has never been any other relationship," Davis' lawyer Marshall B Grossman said in a statement. "The rumours in circulation are false. There are no emails between Ms Davis and Mr Brown of the type which have been described in media reports. If the source of the false rumours is identified, legal action will be taken."
