Lenny Kravitz has admitted that an incomplete, unmixed version of a track called Another Day leaked on the internet is a collaboration with Michael Jackson. In a video posted on his YouTube site Kravitz explains that he “wanted to set the record straight” and that his own copy of the song had been “locked up in a vault since we recorded it”.“I don’t know how they obtained it. That person had nothing to do with the track,” the singer added.
Kravitz wrote, produced and played all the instruments on the track while Jackson sang the vocals. The singer and guitarist described his time working with Michael as “one of the most amazing musical experiences I’ve ever had.”
Commenting about an official release of the track, Kravitz said, “I’d like to see this thing straightened out as soon as possible because I’d like for you the fans – the people who love Michael Jackson – to be able to hear it in its entirety the way it’s meant to be. The way Michael and I intended it to be. That’s all being worked out.”
This is the second posthumous track to be released since Michael’s death in June 2009, following the release of This Is It in October 2009.
