Law suit over Heath Ledger life insurance

Representatives for Heath Ledger's daughter Matlida are suing a US life insurance company after they backed out of paying out £4.5million on the Dark Knight star's policy because they believe he may have committed suicide. Although the New York City Medical Examiner ruled Ledger died of an accidental overdose executives at ReliaStar Life Insurance Company are investigating the possibility Ledger took his own life. TMZ.com claim trustees for Heath's daughter Matilda have now filed suit accusing the insurance firm of acting in bad faith and further accuse ReliaStar of acting "maliciously, fraudulently and/or oppressively... depriving plaintiff of the insurance policy benefits." However lawyers for the company have hit back, "ReliaStar is entitled to investigate Plaintiff's claim to determine if the 'Suicide' provision is applicable."
