Spiderman star Kirsten Dunst has admitted her recent stay in rehab was due to depression.

Kirsten Dunst has confessed her recent stay in celebrity rehab was due to depression. When the Spiderman star checked in to the exclusive Cirque Lodge - http://www.cirquelodge.com in Utah back in February it was widely reported that the actress was suffering from substance abuse problems. Not so, says Dunst. Speaking to E!’s Marc Malkin she said, “I went there for depression. Depression is pretty serious and should not be gossiped about. It was a good six months before I decided to go away. I was struggling, and I had the opportunity to go somewhere and take care of myself,” before explaining, “I was fortunate to have the resources to do it. My friends and family thought it was a good idea, too. But I didn't know where to go. My doctor recommended Cirque Lodge.” Other recent celebrity visitors to rehab facility have been Eva Mendes and Lindsay Lohan.
