Katie Price ‘names’ alleged rapist

Katie Price has named the celebrity she claims raped her earlier in her career during filming of her ITV2 show What Katie Did Next, the Sun reports. Insiders say lawyers for the show have instructed production staff not to divulge the name to anyone and insisted footage of the incident never be broadcast for fear of legal reprisals. "There is a three-line whip here. A handful of people know who it is but they are absolutely not allowed to even tell their loved ones. They're petrified they could get caught up in it like Matthew Wright was over Ulrika and John Leslie," an insider explained. "It [the alleged rape] happened when she was in her early twenties as she was getting started on her glamour career. He was and is quite famous but is less well known than he was 10 years ago. She was too scared to go to police at the time but has never forgotten or forgiven. Katie knows what she has said will have repercussions. But she doesn't want to be seen as the next Ulrika Jonsson."

Katie insisted yesterday she would never reveal the name of her alleged attacker. "It happened absolutely years ago and like anyone, it's just a hard thing to do. It's been done now, what do you do? I would say if something happens you should go to the police," she explained during a call to the Matthew Wright's show The Wright Stuff. Panellist Lowri Turner asked if she was worried whether innocent men could be accused of the crime if she didn't reveal the celebrity's name. "I can understand that as well but I'm not here to say who it is. I'm a victim, it happened to me. It happened absolutely years ago before Pete. To be honest it [a sexual assault] happened to me before, when I was a lot younger, and it was a lot worse than this one. I was a young child - it is in my first book, people know about it. I don't want to go into it. I take it on the chin."
