Jay-Z is said to have hit the roof and sworn revenge when he heard Chris Brown had allegedly beat Rihanna up. The rapper personally signed Rihanna to his record label and has played a hands-on role in her career since and sources claim the rapper has vowed to seek revenge should the assault allegations prove true. "He hit the roof," an insider told Us Weekly magazine. "Chris is a walking dead man. He messed with the wrong crew." Last year Rihanna spoke to People magazine about Jay-Zs protective streak. I just found out from a mutual friend that guys will talk to Jay first before they try to approach me," she explained. "He's very protective. Jay has my best interests in mind. If it's a good guy, I know Jay won't shut him down. But if he's not, Jay will be, like, 'No, no, no.'" Fellow rapper Kanye West has also spoken out about the incident. "She has the potential to be the greatest artist of all time and, in that sense, I feel like that's my baby sis and I would do any and everything to help her in any situation," he told Ryan Seacrests radio show. "Rihanna is so important to pop culture and music. I went on tour with her, and we really vibed out on a lot of creative ideas. I don't want to speak more into the specifics with that situation, but all I'll say is it's just so devastating. I feel like, just as a person, I don't care how famous she is or even if she just worked at McDonald's, that should never happen."
