Amy, who has been in and out of rehab over recent weeks due to drink and drug abuse, managed to beat Jamelia as well as Joss Stone, Corinne Bailey Rae and Beverley Knight to win the Best UK Female award at Wednesday night's MOBO awards in London. Although the beautiful Brummie Jamelia was gracious in her defeat and congratulated Amy, she couldn't resist a little jibe about the Back to Black star's recent headline-grabbing antics.
Jamelia said: 'Of course I'd love that acclaim. I think any artist would love to have what Amy has and to gain that kind of respect.
'I like her, she has a good album. Although I'm sure all the hype surrounding her helps. I hope she gets well soon - it's a shame. But her music speaks for itself.'
