Jack Tweed has insisted the woman who has accused him of rape was a willing participant. Jack and friend Anthony Davis are on trial at Londons Snaresbrook Crown Court accused of two counts of rape and one count of oral rape respectively, following an incident with a 19-year-old girl last September. Tweed and Davis deny the charges.
You targeted the shyest, prettiest girl and got her in to a darkened room together, Prosecution lawyer Linda Strudwick told Tweed before suggesting Jack and Davis had an agreed plan and treated the, now 20-year-old, girl like a sex object. Tweed denied each allegation before telling her he believed there had been a strong mutual attraction between himself and the girl.
She was flirty towards me and very friendly," he explained. "We looked at each other and just started kissing. We made eye contact. I may have made the first move. She was kissing me back and had her arms round me. I didn't know he [Davis] was there until he got on the bed."
Tweed went on to claim he would have stopped having sex with the girl if he had known of Davis's presence in the room. "I wouldn't really have been cross, he said. I just wouldn't have liked it. It's not something I would do."
The trial continues.
