Hulk Hogan has released a statement to explain his recent comments that he ‘totally understood’ OJ Simpson. Actor Simpson was famously acquitted of the murder of his wife Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman in 1995 but later found liable for their wrongful deaths in a civil court. During a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine about his ongoing divorce Hogan – real name Terry Bollea – said, "I could have turned everything into a crime scene, like OJ, cutting everybody's throat. You live half a mile from the 20,000-square-foot home you can't go to anymore, you're driving through downtown Clearwater and see a 19-year-old boy driving your Escalade, and you know that a 19-year-old boy is sleeping in your bed, with your wife. I totally understand OJ. I get it." Needless to say his remarks didn’t go down well. "Murder as a solution to marital problems is disgusting,” Fred Goldman, father of Ron, told press. “Making that comparison dishonours every murder victim and their family. Hogan should be ashamed of himself.” While a spokesman for his estranged wife told Entertainment Weekly, “We’re taking these recent comments seriously," adding "Hulk's serial cheating destroyed our marriage, our family and our future. Sadly, his recent comments remind us that his definition of fair is much different than what the law dictates." In a statement released to press a spokesman for the former wrestler said "Hulk in no way condones the O.J. situation,” before explaining his comments were, “…part of a larger conversation. He referred to it to exemplify his frustration with his own situation."
