A war of words has broken out between Heath Ledger’s father and uncles over the best way to look after the actor’s estate. Ledger’s will hadn’t been updated since 2003 and as such left everything to his parents and sisters but his uncles aren’t happy as they claim Kim, Heath’s father has a bad track record of estate management. Speaking to People Magazine Mike Ledger claimed his brother Kim, Heath’s dad, so mishandled the management of their grandfather's estate 15 years ago in Australia that Kim was removed as executor. “It plunged into enormous debt.” He explained before clarifying his interests. “Our only vested interest is to assure that Matilda is well looked after. When you are talking about large sums of money like this it should be an independent executor, but Kim hasn't chosen that way.” The feud between the brothers is said to date back more than 15 years, when Kim became an executor of their grandfather Sir Frank Ledger's estate. Kim and his brothers haven’t spoken since the dispute with Mike even saying that 17 family members weren't invited to attend Heath's memorial and funeral in Perth. “I'm his godfather,” Mike says. “I didn't even have the opportunity to pay my last respects to Heath. And I tell you, that is terrible – that is so sad.” Robert John Collins – an Australian executor of Heath's will who has known the Ledger family for 30 years – said last week that Mike’s allegations about Kim were “rubbish.”
