The last person to direct Heath Ledger on film, Terry Gilliam has laid into the promotional campaign for the new Batman film and said movie bosses are using the star's death for publicity. Gilliam, who was behind the camera while Heath filmed scenes from his last film The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus, also claims The Dark Knight bosses are "shamelessly capitalising" on rumours that the actor will win an Oscar for his role as The Joker. "That's what Warner Brothers are saying, but they'll do anything to publicise their film," Showbiz Spy quote him saying. "That's just what they do and you can't get upset because it's bulls**t. They're like a great white shark which devours whatever it can."
