Actor Gerard Butler is being investigated by Los Angeles police after being accused of assaulting a paparazzi photographer, gossip site TMZ claims. "Gerard left the Crown Bar at 2am and got into his limo," their sources say. "The photographer claims he was following Gerard's limo in a car, when the limo suddenly stopped. Gerard supposedly got out of the limo, approached the photog and asked why he was tailing him. To that, the photog says he responded, "Hey, that's my job." Gerard allegedly then reached in the car, grabbed the photographer's throat and punched him three or four times. Butler allegedly then kicked the car and again punched the photog three or four times." The Los Angeles Police Department have confirmed they're looking into the case and plan on interviewing Butler. However, another eyewitness claims, "The pap was chasing Butler's car at high speeds, almost hit pedestrians several times and carried on the pursuit for several hours in all. Most surprising, he carried on tailing the actor for an hour after he was introduced to Butler's fist and temper. Oh, and he also called a lawyer before the police. A civil lawyer rather than a criminal one."
