Stephen Gately’s family have said claims the late Boyzone star died due to a mammoth drinking session are “simply wrong”, the Press Association reports. Sources told the Sun newspaper this morning that Stephen had died choking on his own vomit following an “eight-hour booze binge” with partner Andy Cowles. "An eight-hour drinking session is something we do not accept - wherever that is coming from, our information would suggest that is simply wrong,” Gately family lawyer Gerald Kean explained. "We are not saying he was not drinking but eight hours is not something we accept. He was a very sensible man. He enjoyed himself, he loved life."
