Gary Barlow is planning to take on the X Factor by launching his reality TV show, insiders have told The Sun. Sources say the singer wants to discover a new boy band and first offered the project to ITV, who turned down the idea for fear of angering Simon Cowell. The BBC are now said to have shown interest. “Gary is really keen to get into TV and has come up with a cracking idea,” the source claims. “We’ve got high hopes for it. If it gets off the ground it could be something we do every year.” However a spokesman for the Beeb has played down the plans. “We have had a very, very early meeting with Gary Barlow but it's nothing more than that at the moment,” they explained to Digital Spy. “That's not to say we wouldn't like to work with him, but nothing is even near commissioned at present."
