Fern Britton has denied claims she is leaving ITV's This Morning because co-host Phillip Schofield is paid more. After announcing her decision to leave the morning show sources told The Sun Fern decided to leave because a rift had formed between the two presenters over pay, with insiders suggesting Phil was paid three times as much as his colleague. "People like to speculate, rather hurtfully," Fern explained on This Morning. "But the reason is that 10 years is a long time on any show and I'm ready for a change. I also have another Phil [her husband, TV chef, Phil Vickery] in my life too and I want to slow down a little bit and enjoy our life together." Fern further dismissed reports when she appeared to mouth an obscenity, which she said was for the benefit of "our deaf viewers".
