Ellen DeGeneres is buckling under the weight of judging American Idol while continuing to host her own daily chat show, an insider has told the National Enquirer. After a series of guest judges including Victoria Beckham and Katy Perry, Ellen was made the full-time replacement for Paula Abdul on the talent show this year but is apparently finding the extra workload hard to take. “We fear she’s headed for a total breakdown,” a source claimed. “When she strips away her TV makeup, you can see the stress in her face. She looks gaunt and pale. We’re afraid she has cracked under the pressure. Simon [Cowell] was pretty welcoming when Ellen first signed on, but now she’s become his whipping post for anything that’s not working on the show.
“She’s running herself ragged,” the source added. “She tries to eat right, exercise and take vitamins, but we’re worried her health is suffering.”
