Dennis Quaid's newborn twins are reportedly in a serious but stable condition in the neo-natal intensive care unit at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles after a blunder resulted in them being given a huge overdose. The twins, Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace were accidentally given a huge dose of Heparin, a blood thinner used to prevent blood clots and flush out IV lines. Typically babies receive a dose of 10 units, but sources claim the babies received as many as 10,000 units after a nurse mistakenly didn’t check the dosage. TMZ reports that 13 other patients were also given the wrong dose the same night. They are apparently being given Protamine, a drug to reverse the effects. Good luck.
