Debbie Rowe only has her children's best interests at heart, a former business associate of Michael Jackson has told People magazine. "Her interest is that the children are going to be taken care of. Debbie is not a cold person. She is the furthest thing of it. She is a very loving, warm, motherly-type person," friend Marc Schaffel explained adding that Rowe had been "comfortable" with the agreement that the late singer would raise the kids, but was concerned about the influence of other guardians. "Obviously, Michael had a very, very bad relationship with his father. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that if Michael said in the past that he was beaten and roughed up by Joe, that he wouldn't want his own children exposed to the same thing." A hearing is scheduled for 3 August at Los Angeles Superior Court to determine who will gain custody of the former couple's children Prince Michael and Paris.
