Coldplay won three Grammy awards last night on an incredible night for British music. The band won Song and Performance Of The Year honours for their track Viva La Vida, while their album Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends won Best Rock Album. Elsewhere the ever-influential Radiohead bagged two awards, Best Alternative Album and Best Boxed Or Special Album, for their ‘pay-what-you-want’ record In Rainbows. Soul star Adele kept up the momentum by taking home the Best Pop Vocal Performance for her song Chasing Pavements while Welsh star Duffy landed the Best Pop Vocal Album for her debut Rockferry. But veteran rocker and former Led Zeppelin man Robert Plant was the night’s big winner scooping an incredible four awards. He, along with current singing partner Alison Krauss won Record Of The Year for their song Please Read The Letter, they also won the Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals award for another track Rich Woman, yet another of their singles - Killing The Blues - won the nod in the Country Collaboration With Vocals category while their album Raising Sand picked up the Contemporary Folk/Americana Album honours.
