Batman actor Christian Bale has been signed up to play John Connor in the next three sequels to Terminator. Filming has already started for the first of the trilogy, Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, although the producers are remaining tight-lipped about whether Arnie will be taking a break from his mayoral duties to return to his former role. We can only hope!Victor Kubiecek of film company Halcyon, says, "Christian was our first choice and he's a big fan of The Terminator, so we're very lucky."Apparently Bale loved the script so much he signed up for all three films immediately.
Christian plays an adult John Conner in the fourth instalment and there's been much speculation as to how the film will turn out. It's rumoured to be set in the future and to have a budget of around $187m but we will have to wait until summer 2009 to find out whether it's the blockbuster we've been promised or it should have been hasta la vista after Rise Of The Machines.
