Chris Brown says ‘sorry’

Disgraced R & B star Chris Brown has apologised for assaulting Rihanna in February.

Chris Brown has finally apologised for assaulting Rihanna in February. Last month, the singer pleaded guilty to felony assault by means likely to cause great bodily injury as part of a plea bargain deal. In exchange for his plea, he was sentenced to five years probation, 180 days of community labour and ordered to complete a year of domestic violence classes. In a two-minute video Brown says: "Since February my attorney has advised me not to speak out, even though since the incident I wanted to publicly express my deepest regret and accept full responsibility," before adding, "I cannot go into what happened, and most importantly, I'm not going to sit here and make any excuses. I take great pride in me being able to exercise self-control and what I did was inexcusable. I am very sad and very ashamed of what I've done."

"What I did was unacceptable, 100 percent. I can only ask and pray that you forgive me, please. I hope that others learn from my mistakes. I intend to live my life so that I am truly worthy of the term ‘role model.' Thank you."

So far, most celeb blogs have taken a dim view of Brown's statement but what do you think? Is Chris truly sorry or desperately trying to save his career? Tell us here.
