Fight For This Love, Cheryl Cole's debut solo single is set to be the No 1 selling record this week, the Official Charts Company have said. Midweek sales figures show that 134,000 copies of the song were bought on Monday, insiders are now tipping it to become the fastest selling single of the year. Former X Factor winner Alexandra Burke currently holds the record after her single Bad Boys sold 187,100 copies last week. "This will be the second successive week of massive single sales - led by Cheryl. Her first day sales are just amazing and put her in pole position to top the Official Singles Chart on Sunday," Martin Talbot from the Official Charts Company said. "Together with Alexandra Burke, she is likely to set the sales standard by which everyone will be judged for the rest of the year, in the run-up to Christmas."
Meanwhile, an X Factor spokesman has confirmed Cheryl did not sing entirely live during her performance on the show this past weekend, the Daily Mail reports. Much was made of Cheryl's debut solo performance last week and whether the Girls Aloud star would sing live. "Cheryl sang the verses and not the choruses," a spokesman said before adding, "This is normal for any performer with an energetic routine."
