Madonna adoption news. The singer’s appeal against the Malawian courts ruling denying her request to adopt a second child from the country has been adjourned. Last month the courts decided the Material Girl couldn’t adopt a second child, said to be three-year-old Mercy James, as she wasn’t a permanent resident in the African country. Madge wasn’t at the closed hearing herself, and no date has been set for the next session. The singer has also said she will campaign to change global adoption laws if her bid to adopt Mercy James is rejected because of her single status. “If she fails on the grounds of her divorce she will be absolutely livid,” a source claims, “She is already talking about starting a campaign for single mums to be allowed to adopt the world over. She believes if you have love to offer, the fact you are divorced, widowed or unmarried should not be seen as a barrier.” Sounds like the Malawian government better watch out because Madonna’s beginning to use fighting talk.

The actress hinted that she and her husband Tony are planning to adopt a child. “Every time I work with the kids from Padres [a children’s hospital in Los Angeles], my heart just explodes with happiness and joy because they’re so inspiring,” she told E! Vanessa Hudgens asked for an “open” relationship, insiders have told the National Enquirer magazine. The actress is said to have asked for the arrangement having read in a recent interview that Efron said he didn’t want to get married until he’s 40. “When Vanessa heard about Zac’s plan to stay single for the next couple of decades she was shocked and shattered,” a source claims. “Zac’s totally upset – he doesn’t want Vanessa dating anyone else. Even though he’s not ready to commit himself to settling down at this stage of his young life, the thought of Vanessa in another man’s arms drives him crazy.” We can’t say we blame Zac for not wanting to commit though, he’s got the looks, the talent and the money – seems like he could have any girl he likes.

Cameron thought she could settle in England but misses her old life too much. The romance just died.” LA insiders have also added Cameron was spotted at the Chateau Marmont hotel recently, flirting with several men. “She looked hot and every guy in the place noticed,” the insider revealed. “When a friend asked after Paul she just rolled her eyes and dismissed it with a wave of her hand. Eminem has confessed that a drug addiction nearly killed him. “It’s no secret I had a drug problem,” he told Vibe magazine. “It never hit me once that drug addiction runs in my family,” he added. “Now that I understand that I am an addict, I definitely have compassion for my mother. George Clooney has spoken out against sexual harassment charges made against his friend, Cindy Crawford’s husband, Rande Gerber. Businessman Gerber has been accused of trying to “kiss and fondle” two former employees but George has told Us magazine his friend is innocent. “I was with Rande the entire night – as were a lot of people,” he says of the night in question. “They will all say the same thing I’m saying. This event never happened period. The lawsuit was filed in San Diego County Superior Court by two waitresses who claim they lost their jobs at the Moonstone Lounge, a restaurant owned by Gerber’s company, after refusing his advances. “Me Gerber and Mr Clooney will take lie detector tests to prove that the allegations against Mr Gerber are false,” a Gerber Group spokesperson told TMZ.

Kiefer Sutherland reportedly broke a man’s nose having head butted him while protecting Brooke Shield’s honour, sources told TMZ. The head-butting incident is said to have taken place at an after-party for the Met Costume Institute Ball in New York when Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCullough knocked actress Brooke Shields over, prompting 24’s Sutherland to demand an apology. Then the pair reportedly scuffled before the head butt. However, a spokesman for Shields has denied McCullough pushed the actress. “Nothing happened to her,” the rep explains. “Jack did nothing inappropriate. It’s not clear what caused Kiefer to do what he did.” Oh dear, we wonder if Jack Bauer could get himself out of this kind of hot water? Police are believed to be investigating the incident.
