Paris Hilton, known more for her partying than for her third world concerns, is planning to travel to Africa to help highlight some of the continent’s struggles. After attending a summit on health and women’s issues in Los Angeles, the socialite met Prime Minister’s wife Sarah Brown and 15 first ladies from African nations at the event, and they inspired her knew-found-philanthropic side, Radar Online reports. “It was an honour for me to be there, and I want to help shine a light on the struggles that Africa faces,” Paris said, before adding, “The First Lady of Cameroon personally invited me to Cameroon and it’s something I hope to make happen. It is a very important priority to me. We have some exciting news to announce in the next two weeks.” We can’t wait.

Beyoncé has laughed off a hoax video featuring her voice saying it’s “amazing”. The clip of the star singing to a backing track of If I Were A Boy – altered to make her sound off-key – appeared last week on YouTube. The track was played by several American radio stations who believed it was genuine. “I haven’t heard it,” Beyoncé admitted on US TV show Today, “but I do know that it was a complete joke. It’s so amazing,” she continued, “that someone in their home can do a little prank and it can end up on these major radio shows.” Student Matthew Zeghibe has admitted creating the clip. “I wanted to show people how easy it is to manipulate someone’s voice,” he told Rolling Stone magazine. We also think he may have had a little too much time on his hands.

Keira Knightley made headlines this week for what handbag.com thinks were all the right reasons. The actress stars in a
Women’s Aid domestic violence advert, helmed by Atonement director Joe Wright, which has been banned after being deemed too shocking. In the clip, Keira is seen returning home from work to a boyfriend who accuses her of having an affair before assaulting her. However, Clearcast, the body that censors adverts, has claimed the promo is too violent and can’t be aired until the scenes are removed. “We were very careful to reflect what we had heard from anecdotal evidence.” Lucy Brown told the Daily Telegraph. “We have put this forward to Clearcast, with statistics from the Home Office, and other material.” The advertising agency who created the clip, Grey London, have insisted the clip can be a success despite the ban because of the debates it has sparked, and we couldn’t agree more.

The pair released a statement through their publicists saying they are “overjoyed” to be expecting twins by the surrogate mother and release a statement through their publicist saying the children were due “later this summer” but didn’t reveal any further details about the pregnancy or surrogate mum. “[The pair] are happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate,” their spokesman said. Bless. Sarah, 44, and Matthew, 47 have been married 12 years and have a six-year-old son, James Wilkie Broderick.

We’ve often wondered how long it would be before the fashion police caught up with Lady GaGa to have a word with her about her heinous choice of outfits. Even our fashion team documented some of her worse fashion faux pas . Now, the Russian police have stepped in and done us all a favour. The Pokerface singer has admitted that she was nearly arrested last weekend after Moscow police took offence to her small leather outfit. “They tried to arrest me in Russia, for leather at St Basil’s [Cathedral],” GaGa tweeted. “But all is calm in the red square, as I leave the East, Paris-bound.” And this isn’t the singer’s first brush with the law over style, last month she was stopped in by police for a similarly risqué outfit while out and about in Chicago. Seems to us that Lady GaGa owes some time for her many crimes against fashion.

When she returned to the UK in March she felt like a total outsider. Amy has already started looking at properties to buy. She has her heart set on one house in particular. It is massive, right on the beach and has its own big garden, too.” While this all sounds lovely, we can’t help but feel a little disappointed.
