The Spice Girls are reportedly set to perform at the opening ceremony for the 2012 London Olympics, the Daily Mirror reports. Their manager Simon Fuller explained that the demand for a reunion is as strong as ever. “They will not want to be performing hits like Wannabe in their forties,” the music guru said, “But it’s amazing how often people talk about another reunion. The Daily Mail landed itself in hot water again this week, when columnist Amanda Platell accused Heather Mills of using her prosthetic leg for sympathy. Commenting on a picture of Heather training for her role in Dancing On Ice, Platell wrote, “One question: why does she roll up one trouser leg to show her prosthetic limb, yet leaves the other leg covered?” before asking, “Not still milking the sympathy vote, are we pet?” Mills responded in the only dignified way a celebrity can these days, and took to her Twitter account. “She said I kept my trouser leg up to show off my prosthetic, UNTRUE. It was rolled up so Bob Watts the prosthetist could see the alignment and work out why I could not do crossovers without catching my blade and falling over.” She went on the say, “If the lazy woman did her homework she would understand how near impossible it is to skate with one limb to raise money for a needy charity programme.” Heather then went on to explain that the session was private and she had not expected anyone to snap a picture of her.
