Chris Brown narrowly avoided jail time this week, after pleading guilty to assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna. The R&B singer was given five years probation and 1,440 hours of community service for the assault on Rihanna, which happened in February of this year. TMZ reports, “He gets five years probation for a felony assault. He’ll get supervised probation. He’ll have to come back to court every three months. He must enrol in a domestic violence counselling program. If Brown violates probation, he could get up to four years in prison.” The singer has also been ordered to stay at least 50 yards from Rihanna for the next five years, a sentence which she thought unnecessary. http://www.handbag.com/celebrity/Rihanna-stay-away-order-not-necessary/v1

Pictures surfaced of Katie – who seems to have found her inner Jordan again – living it up in Ibiza, while Peter looked heartbroken, pictured hugging his mother in Cyprus. Andre is said to have told a friend that his ex was “behaving like a wild dog” while on holiday on the Spanish Island. “Of course I still love Katie,” Pete told New! magazine. “If you get over someone in five weeks then you obviously didn’t love them in the first place!” However Katie has, so far, been less than complimentary. She is reported to be “totally over” Peter, had a tattoo on her wrist altered to remove his name and described him as “being a true c***” on Twitter on Sunday.

Matthew Broderick welcomed twin daughters into the world this week. The girls, Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge, were delivered via a surrogate mother in an Ohio hospital on Monday. “The babies are doing beautifully and the entire family is over the moon,” their publicist said in a statement to press. The twins make an elder brother of the couple’s six-year-old son James Wilkie. Congratulations SJP.

Johnny Depp stopped in for a visit at Gibsons Steakhouse in Chicago and left his waiter a £2,500 tip, RadarOnline.com reported. “Johnny and his party arrived just after 11.30pm and requested a private room. He had visited our restaurant several times before while he was filming Public Enemies and he promised me he would return after the premiere,” waiter Mohammed Sekhanni explained. “He is a very soft-spoken guy who is charming and sweet. When I wait for him he doesn’t like to be too fussed over and is not in any way demanding. Obviously I was very delighted with his tip but he has always been very generous every time that he has visited us here at Gibsons.”

Perez Hilton has been all over the news this week after getting involved in a well-publicised argument with Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am. The celebrity blogger was allegedly assaulted by Black Eyed Peas’ road manager, Polo Molina, during a row in which he called will.i.am a “f**got”. Perez has been criticised by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation for using the insult. At first Hilton – real name Mario Lavandeira – refused to apologise but he has since released a statement, “Words can hurt. I know that very well, from both sides of the fence. The other night in Toronto, after feeling physically threatened, by a verbally abusive will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas, I chose the most hurtful word I know to hurl at him,” he said. He then went on to express concern at the way the argument had been reported. “I have been extremely bothered by the reaction to my assault. Violence should never be condoned with such statements as ‘It’s karma’. In fact, several television and radio shows over the past couple of days echoed the sentiment ‘He had it coming’. Would they have said the same thing if I was a woman? Would I have ‘deserved it’ if I had been stabbed?”
