Brian McFadden demanded ex-wife Kerry Katona give him temporary custody of their children this week, the Sunday Mirror claim. Brian is said to have given Kerry until Thursday 17 September to respond to his legal request or he’d file for full custody of their daughters, Molly, 8, and Lily-Sue, 6. Brian – who it’s believed hasn’t spoken to Kerry since their divorce back in 2006 – made the demand following the News of the World’s video showing Kerry snorting cocaine in her bathroom while the children were present in the house.

Sir Elton John hopes of adopting a 14-month-old orphan were dashed this week when a Ukranian member of parliament bluntly informed the singer he was too old. During a visit to an orphanage this weekend 62-year-old Elton told the BBC he was keen to adopt a boy named Lev who’d “stolen his heart”. However, Ukrainian authorities were quick to party poop. “Elton John will not be able to adopt a Ukrainian child and if he files that request we will unfortunately deny it,\" said Family, Youth and Sports Minister Yuriy Pavlenko, citing the country’s policy of a maximum age of 45 to adopt. \"The law is the same for everybody: for a president, for a minister, for Elton John.\" What about Madonna?

Kelly Clarkson then landed a decent combination, “We\'re all curious as to what would make a grown man go on national television and make a talented artist, let alone teenager, feel like s***. Tributes flooded in for actor Patrick Swayze who died this week aged 57, following a two-year fight with pancreatic cancer. \"Patrick was a rare and beautiful combination of raw masculinity and amazing grace. Long time friend Rob Lowe - who like Swayze made his big screen breakthrough in Francis Ford Coppola’s brat pack classic The Outsiders – said,

Tributes were also paid to celebrity chef Keith Floyd who died this week following a heart attack at his partner’s home in Dorset. Floyd, known for his groundbreaking 80s cookery shows where he seldom appeared without a wine glass, had been battling bowel cancer since June this year. “What he did to inspire a nation, I don’t know another man who has done what he has done,” Hell’s Kitchen star Marco Pierre White said. This Morning’s resident chef Phil Vickery said, “He didn’t live in the sanitized world of perfect studio cookery, he was out and about, he loved his drink and he loved engaging with other people. I think he was the untitled British gentleman abroad cooking.”
