Friends warned Brittany Murphy about her use of prescription drugs shortly before her death yesterday, the Sun claims. Insiders say Murphy was using painkillers including Vicodin following a series of plastic surgery operations. "We have been very worried something like this was about to happen,” a source claims. “Brittany has been living life on the edge. She definitely had a drug problem and we have all begged her to seek help. Sadly our words fell on deaf ears." Gossip site TMZ has also claimed that a number of prescription medications for Murphy, her husband Simon Monjack and her mother were found at the couple's home in West Hollywood. "There were a lot of prescriptions in the house," a police source added.
LA’s assistant chief coroner Ed Winter has confirmed authorities are looking into Brittany’s medical history but added, "It [her death] appears to be natural." An autopsy on her body is expected to be carried out tomorrow.
