The fight for the control of Britney Spears’ estate took a dramatic turn in court yesterday when her mum Lynne claimed manager Sam Lutfi had been drugging her daughter, cut her phone lines, hidden her mobile chargers and was controlling her finances. In court documents Lynne states, “Sam told me that he grinds up Britney's pills, which were on the counter and included Risperdal (an anti-psychotic drug for schizophrenia and bipolarity) and Seroquel. He told us that the doctor who is treating her now is trying to get her into a sleep-induced coma so that they could then give her drugs to heal her brain." And the allegations kept on coming, “Sam had told Britney that she was an unfit mother, a piece of trash and a whore, that she cares more about Adnan, her current boyfriend, than she cares about her kids, and that she does not deserve the kids." Sources also claim Lutfi told Lynne, “If you try to get ride of me, she'll be dead and I'll piss on her grave.” The documents also claim that on the evening of her hospitalisation Britney “changed her three dogs' clothes many times in an agitated state and said, “Can I see another psychiatrist so I can see my babies?” Sam responded, “If I told you to take 10 pills a day, you should do what I tell you to see your babies.”
At one point, Britney allegedly said, “I want my daddy up here. I want to talk to my daddy.” In a text message to the Associated Press on Monday, Lutfi said, "I have no problems with anyone writing anything negative against me. My image is not of concern, hers is."
Elsewhere in court the question of Spears' competency came up as an attorney, Adam Streisand, unsuccessfully argued the pop star told him she wanted her father prevented from controlling her estate. "She has expressed to me very strongly (her wish) that her father not be the conservator. There has been an estrangement for quite some time. With him as conservator, that is causing her more agitation and more distress." But court-appointed attorney Samuel Ingham said when he interviewed Britney on Sunday he determined she didn't understand the court proceedings, and "she lacks the capacity to retain counsel".
