Britney Spears has been blamed for the break-up of Mel Gibson’s marriage, the Daily Mirror report. Actor Mel’s wife Robyn filed for divorce after 28 years of marriage last week citing irreconcilable differences. With Mel worth an estimated £630m it could end up being one of the most expensive divorce cases ever. “Mel invited Britney to his estate to offer a place of respite,” a source told the paper, referring to when Gibson offered Spears a helping hand during her problems in 2008. “He also took her for dinner in LA. But the innuendo and whispers got to Robyn. She had to get out and this meant divorce. Robyn doesn’t believe anything happened but thought it odd a 50-something man struck a friendship with someone so young. She was aware what people might be thinking and wasn’t very happy to say the least.”
