Former Fawlty Towers star Andrew Sachs has praised Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand and thanked the pair for giving his career a boost. Sachs was at the centre of a scandal last autumn that started when the comedians left a series of messages on his answer phone and ended with Brand leaving the BBC and Ross being suspended for three months without pay. "My family and I came out of it very well," Sachs told Guardian Weekend magazine. "Ross is a great talent with a very quick brain. If only he'd get rid of the other stuff, he'd be twice as good.
