If ever there's something that a little 11-year-old girl whose mum died of a heroin overdose and dad got a little bit kinky with belt needs, it's a bit of stability in life and close family. But it looks like the saintly Bob Geldof, who is Heavenly Hirani Tiger Lily Hutchence's guardian since Paula Yates relinquished responsibility in 2000, can't stand the pain of looking after a girl who surname is that of his ex wife's husband, Michael Hutchence. Geldof, who told us to send money to Africa in Live Aid and then not to 20 years later in Live8, wants Tiger Lily to formally accept the surname Geldof and follow in the footsteps of her party-crazy half sister, it-girl Peaches.
Ever the family man, Geldof is the patron of charity Grandparents Apart for grandparents who can't see their grandchildren, which is ironic because according to Michael's sister Tina Hutchence: "None of the rest of us have seen Tiger, only my mother, and that was with the nanny. In seven years he's given my mother just four days of supervised visits."
