Beyonce has called a joke Internet recording that featured her voice altered to sound off key "amazing". Last week a YouTube clip said to be the "board feed", the raw voice of the star singing along to a backing track, of Beyonce performing If I Were A Boy appeared on several American radio stations. "I haven't heard it, but I do know that it was a complete joke," the singer said on US show Today. "It's so amazing that someone in their home can do a little prank and it can end up on these major radio shows." Student Matthew Zeghibe has admitted creating the clip. "I wanted to show people how easy it is to manipulate someone's voice," he told Rolling Stone magazine. "If I can do it with a clip I pulled off of TV, imagine what they are doing on records and during live performances. The entire industry has been so manipulated, because there's such an emphasis on perfection, so when something like this happens, it causes such a stir. It was just for a good laugh. It was a goof, just for fun. I do a lot of parodies on my YouTube channel, and it just so happens this one got a little out of hand."
Here's the hoax video, sadly much funnier if it were real!
