Ashley to buy Cheryl new ring

Disgraced Ashley Cole plans to buy wife Cheryl a new wedding ring.

Sheepish Ashley Cole is planning to buy an expensive new wedding ring for Cheryl to make up for his recent indiscretions, it has been claimed. Sources say Cheryl is refusing to wear her original band, despite agreeing to take her husband back, but a well-placed friend has told the Mirror, "Ashley is crushed every time Cheryl refuses to wear the ring. He is desperate for them to move on and is keen to make her happy. He wants to buy a new ring, twice as blinging, and will easily spend £160,000. He wants Cheryl to have the choice of wearing something new if she can't face wearing the old one because it brings back bad memories." However, Hello magazine claim it's Cheryl's mum Joan who's holding all the cards. Their insider says, "Her mum is putting her own feelings about Ashley to one side and is stepping in, having lengthy conversations with him about what he did and how he plans to ensure it never happens again. Although it is, of course, Cheryl's decision, it's only when Joan is certain he is able to make her beautiful daughter happy again will she give Cheryl the OK to take him back."
