The Italian Premier snubbed the actress recently by cancelling his meeting with her at the last minute.
Jolie, who is a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations, was reportedly intending to question Mr Prodi about his stance on world poverty at a UN conference she was attending in New York earlier this week.
However, Mr Prodi is said to be unimpressed with all the attention that the 32-year-old actress is attracting.
Turning his nose up at her status as a political activist, Mr Prodi said: 'I've never seen a politician get into trouble for not meeting an actress.'
