Contrary to the vast majority of people who’d describe Amy Winehouse’s now infamous Birmingham meltdown gig as Godawful, musicals legend Andrew Lloyd Webber disagrees. In fact he even goes so far as calling it "one of the greatest concerts of all time" in an open letter of support to Amy printed in Hello Magazine. In the gushing message he also says, “You were obviously troubled by the situation your husband is facing, and you talked about him quite a lot - absolutely understandable. You sang with an almost Piaf-like quality and there were many moments when I marvelled at your sheer genius." He rounded the letter off with, "Many in the Birmingham audience simply did not deserve you." Yeah, good point Andrew, those ticket buying fools that pay her wages, how dare they turn up and expect a professional performance that represents value for money.
