Akon has said he will give up his US citizenship and return to live in Senegal if John McCain wins today’s presidential election. “If he [Obama] doesn't get into office, I'm gonna change my citizenship. I'm moving back to Africa. You can hold me to that. I'm afraid to live there if he [McCain] is President. The decisions he makes scare me: he's making selfish decisions, he's doing whatever it takes to get into office," the R&B star tells the Guardian before laying into McCain’s running mate Sarah Palin. "I don't think he's going to last eight years so she's definitely going to be president. Oh my goodness - that's scarier. And who would be her running mate? Joe the Plumber? I can't even envision how bad it's gonna be.”
Akon’s not the only one to doubt John McCain’s campaign, in August Madonna caused outcry when she featured images of the politician alongside pictures of destruction during a live concert and in September Matt Damon mocked the Republican’s choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate, likening it to “a really bad Disney movie”.
