Most of Tinseltown will be nursing post-Oscar hangovers, but on Monday 8 March, we'll be toasting International Women's Day (IWD), which is celebrating its 100th birthday.
IWD is a national holiday around the world (in many countries men give gifts to the women in their life), but in the UK the holiday has a serious lack of PR.
Want to do your bit? Here's how...
1. Buy the Diane von Furstenberg compilation CD
Fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg (she of the legendary wrap dress) is supporting IWD 2010 with the release of a compilation album Proud To Be Woman, featuring the vocals of Joss Stone, Mary J. Blige and Estelle. Sales benefit Vital Voices, an organisation dedicated to the empowerment of women.
Proud To Be Woman is available to buy from Monday 8 March at DVF boutiques worldwide, DVF.com and for download on iTunes at iTunes.com/dvf.

2. Put a ring on it with Avon
For just £3, you can get your hands (or finger, rather) on this sleek silver ring from Avon, with all UK profits donated to the domestic violence charities Women's Aid, Refuge UK and the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM).
The £3 Avon Empowerment Ring is available to buy from Monday 8 March at avonshop.co.uk or directly from Avon Representatives.
3. Come dine with me
Forget ladies who lunch. In 2010, International Women's Day is all about women who dinner. The White Ribbon Alliance (WRA) is asking women to host dinner parties in order to raise money for the charity, which promotes safe motherhood around the world.

The charity will be hosting it's own star-studded bash attended by Sarah Brown, but if you want to host your own visit www.whiteribbonalliance.org to download a dinner party guide.
