We were out at the One Day premiere last night to catch the stars as they walked the red carpet. Here’s what Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess had to say about their parts.
“I really related to the fact that she is a slow grower,” Anne said of her character Emma. “and she’s funny and she’s amazing and she’s a good friend and she’s beautiful. There are so many reasons you’d want to play Emma.”
“I liked him because he’s a big personality,” Jim Sturgess, who plays Dexter, admitted. “And it’s nice to play someone that’s not just a generic leading man. You know, he’s got flaws, he’s got problems, and complications.”
So that’s what they thought of their own characters. What of each other?
“Jim’s really relaxed,” Anne gushes. ”Jim’s got a really healthy attitude about everything. He’s really real and really honest. And so much fun. I’ve never known anyone who’s so pure of heart and so naughty at the same time.”
“She’s brilliant,” Jim says of Anne. “I couldn’t have asked for anyone better really, and our friendship developed as the film went on as we tried to play these two best friends.”
