Based on the novel by Khaled Hosseini, The Kite Runner (2007) is a sincerely moving memoir of two boys growing up in 1970s Afghanistan. The controversial subject matter may have led to it being toned down for the big screen, but for the story line alone it\'s well worth a watch. Expect thoughts to be provoked, plenty of pathos and some worn out heartstrings.
