Even before last night’s show this year’s Grammy Awards have been dominated by Amy Winehouse. First it was the question of whether she’d be able to clean up sufficiently to go (she did) and then if US officials would grant her a visa to attend (they didn’t) with all that drama no one gave a thought to her chances of winning any of the six awards she was up for. Always the jewel in the US music award show’s crown the Grammys finally took place last night at LA’s Staples Centre, here are a few of it’s biggest moments…

Thanks to her visa refusal Amy couldn’t be there in person last night but did manage to show up for a live video link up and it’s just as well she did. Nominated for six awards Amy won an incredible five on the night - Record of the year, Song of the year, Best new artist, Best female pop vocal performance and Best pop vocal album – and also made
the best acceptance speech complete with an Ali G-esque “My Blake incarcerated” shout out. Excellent.
