jodie whittaker at the baftas 2010
The Bafta 2010 red carpet arrivals came thick and fast and who can blame the celebrities for rushing inside? It was freezing! Apart from the British association with these awards - it is our biggest nod to the film industry, rewarding the best work of any nationality that has entertained audiences in cinemas around the country - this year it\'s an extra special British affair with our finest acting talent up for recognition. Brit flick An Education was nominated for six awards, with rising star Carey Mulligan winning the Lead Actress gong, while Colin Firth, Andy Serkis and Alfred Molina were Brit males all in the running.
\r\n\r\nApart from the awards themselves, the couture dresses, endless jewels and designer shoes, there is, of course, the hair and make-up. Were updos the Bafta fashion? Was red lipstick the seductive staple make-up look? Who made the biggest hair and make-up faux pas? When it comes to Hollywood\'s finest anything can happen.
\r\n\r\nWe\'ve scored these leading ladies out of 10 - do you agree? Read on to see who was hot and who was not at the 2010 Orange British Academy Film Awards and leave your comments.

carey mulligan hair and beauty at the Baftas 2010
Although we love Carey\'s dress, there is something slightly washed-out about her blonde hair and pale complexion combo. Her eye liner looks pretty but perhaps a pop of lipstick would have finished the look off better.
\r\n\r\nIt\'s a miss. What do you think?

Anna\'s luscious brunette locks have been unleashed and boy do they look good! Shunning the updo trend Anna has had her hair tonged to perfection with lots of added shine and soft waves. We like.
\r\n\r\nScore: 8/10 - we love her smoky eye make-up too!

What\'s not to love about Audrey Tautou\'s red carpet look? Her bright lipstick, front-rolled 50s hairstyle and flawless complexion gives us serious make-up and hair envy. And have you seen her dress... it\'s pink fantastic!

claire danes at the baftas 2010
The lovely Claire Danes looks just peachy on the red carpet. It\'s essentially quite a simple look: her hair is glossy and straight with subtle flicks, her long lashes - no doubt enhanced with a few falsies - add that Hollywood wow factor, plus her bold red lipstick and matte complexion leave her looking every inch the leading lady.

Kate\'s staple sleek red carpet updo has been replaced with this blonde, beachy, loose-tousled look. It is a lighter, fresher style for last year\'s Bafta winner.

jaime winstone hair and beauty at the baftas
The jury was out on Jaime\'s red carpet look, but now it\'s returned a firm no, no, no! Although in theory her 1940s style wavy hair and red lipstick combination works, together it\'s all too much. Her brassy shade of blonde - with roots, we might add - caked-on foundation and bright shade of cherry pink lipstick just shouldn\'t be worn together, let alone on the red carpet.

vera farmiga at the baftas 2010
Vera Farmiga, star of Up In The Air, braved the cold British weather looking every inch the star in her flowing white gown. With brown smouldering smoky eye make-up, highlighted cheek bones and a low-slung knotted bun with an on-trend centre parting, Vera is a big hit in our office

Saoirse Ronan, star of The Lovely Bones, is waving the flag for all us blondette ladies. Her subtle blonde highlights break up her brunette colour and her mix of silver and grey smoky eye make-up is a winning look for the young, up-and-coming actress.

kristen stewart at the baftas 2010
Kristen Stewart\'s look doesn\'t really do it for us - and it\'s not because she\'s rumoured to be dating the gorgeous Robert Pattinson. She works the grumpy teenager look too much these days and although her eye make-up is a hit, her limp hair and lack of lippie receives a miss.
