The biggest celebrity gossip of the night was supermodel Petra Nemcova, 28, on the arm of Hollywood star Sean Penn, 47. The pair attended Elton John\'s party, where Petra\'s ex, British singer/songwriter James Blunt, was also a guest. Sean and Petra looked like they were having a great time at Elton\'s bash, dancing and chatting to Kate Beckinsale, Chris O\'Donnell and Larry King who were also sitting at their table. They carried on partying at Villa club until the wee hours of the morning.

Remember Gary Busey who played Keanu Reeves police partner in Point Break? Well, he made sure he was noticed on the Oscars red carpet by apparently terrifying Jennifer Garner and Laura Linney half to death. The pair were being interviewed by E! presenter Ryan Seacrest when he shouted, ‘"Ryan Seacrest! I\'ve been looking for you for years!" and proceeded to hug and kiss the ladies with a little too much zeal. After the interview Ryan said, "I don\'t even know how to explain what just happened and the terror on Jennifer Garner\'s face when that went down." Gary phoned Ryan\'s radio show the following morning to make a bungling apology.

The Mirror reports that Tilda Swinton got her knickers - or should we say control briefs - in a twist at the Warner Bros party. The goody bags included Bridget Jones-like pants, a joke referring to the weight she put on for her role in Michael Clayton. A source at the party told the Mirror\'s reporters, "Tilda ate a pie before every scene in Michael Clayton - she said it made her feel uncomfortable in her skin and that helped her get into character. Tilda has lost all the weight now and the pants were meant as a joke, not to offend. And, anyway, there were anti-wrinkle pads in the bags, too, in reference to all the frowning George did in the film."
