When the Orange-sponsored Bafta Rising Star awards shortlist was announced earlier this week, Twitter went into over drive in response, based on the fact that the shortlist was all male. Bafta were quick to set the story straight, by reminding the public that the shortlist had been voted for by Orange customers. While we're upset that the talented faces of Jessica Chastain (who is massive in the rising star stakes as far as we're concerned) and Felicity Jones didn't make the cut, there are still some great actors to choose from.
Making the list this year are Chris Hemswoth, of Thor fame, Chris O'Dowd, the love interest from Bridesmaids (where, oh where are the famale cast members? we hear you cry), Adam Deacon, who has been on the scene since 2006 with his gritty urban drama Kidulthood, Eddie Redmayne, who was seen in My Week With Marilyn alongside Michelle Williams in 2011, and Tom Hiddleston, currently starring in Steven Spielberg's War Horse.
So, who do you want to see win? Does the fact that Orange customers didn't vote for female talent annoy you?
