Doing: My parents are coming round for a belated Father’s Day lunch on Saturday (I also have a spot of light DIY I need to get my dad on to…) so I’ll be consulting the Canteen cookbook Great British Food for some of Pa Holman’s favourite dishes. The chicken and mushroom pie is a winner every time.
One thing I love about living in South London is that you can entertain yourself all weekend without having to schlep all the way into town. On Saturday night I’ll be heading to Brockwell Lido’s fab café (aptly named The Lido Café ). The food’s delicious, and one of my favourite things to do when it’s summer in the city is get a table outside by the pool and pretend I’m holiday.
Buying:If I can drag myself across the river on Sunday, I’ll be heading to Zara to buy this messenger bag. I’ve been meaning to pick one up for ages, and now it’s in the sale, I’ve got no excuse. This would have accompanied me to Glastonbury had I actually remembered to buy a ticket this year. Instead I’ll wear it with my Wellington boots while I watch the edited highlights on the TV. Hmph.
