After taking her first steps away from the relative girl group safety of Girls Aloud last year on Will.i.am’s Heartbreaker, Cheryl Cole premiered her debut solo single, Fight For This Love, on Radio 1 this morning. Minutes after its first public play Twitter was awash with posts and opinion is split.
The reviews of Fight For this Love range from the harsh, @LiamHannah Dear Cheryl Cole. I Do Not Know If I Can Ever Forgive You For Letting Me Down Like This to straight down the middle @danielbailess I think the Cheryl Cole single was rushed so it would be ready to perform on the xfactor. It's album track quality, to the flat out fantastic, @busolaevans I LOVE Cheryl Cole's new single already. Love it, I say. LOVE IT!!
So, what do handbag think? Well Cheryl doesn’t sound awful, but we can’t help but compare it to Victoria Beckham and Dane Bower’s Out of Your Mind. And it’s certainly no Girls Aloud single, sometimes it’s good to stick to what you know. But hey, maybe it’ll grow on us.
