The annual Mercury Prize shortlist for Album Of The Year was announced earlier today, with Adele leading the nominations.
Having dominated the charts with her second album 21, which has received critical acclaim, Adele found herself in the running for the prize, which is £20,000, is open to UK and Ireland artists and is sponsored by Barclaycard.
Adele was nominated for the award for her debut album, 19, back in 2008 but lost out to Elbow's Seldom Seen Kid.
The nominees include a whole host of female artists, and an array of genres from folky guitar bands to dub-step.

The winner will be announced on 6 September at a ceremony which will see the nominees perform.
Last year's winners were London-based trio The XX.
